Veterans Day is also known as Armistice Day. This day is very important for the Americans who served during world war I. this day is in the honor of the men who lost their lives in this war. This day, the Veterans Day is held on November 11 as this was the day that the war ended.
Today, the Veterans Day is observed with deep sincerity and honors all the veterans who served in all wars that were related to the United States. The veterans’ organizations conduct parades in respect of the brave warriors who lost their valuable life.
These organizations place wreath on the Tombs of even unknown people. This holiday came into establishment in the aim of honoring the Americans who fought the war and are no more.
Veterans Day is observed as an American holiday. This is a state as well as a federal holiday in many states. This day in case happens to be a Sunday, then the following Monday is declared as a leave and in case the veterans day falls on Saturday, then Friday or Saturday can be selected as a holiday.
Earlier it was known as Armistice Day and was held on 12th November. Later this holiday was dedicated to the world peace and was declared to be an authorized holiday. Then slowly the Armistice Day was altered as All Veterans Day. The board of education also encouraged this dates, November 11th to tribute veterans by sending flowers on Veterans Day.
This day, the Veterans Day is observed with peace and deep solemnity as many valuable lives have been lost in many wars. They fought their lives for noble and good causes and gave the others happiness.
In this honor, taking a day off from the regular routine and paying sincere homage is essential and this can as well be done by sending flowers on Veterans Day.
