Father’s day is observed in June in the United States on the third Sunday. United States is one such country that observes an official day. This is the day that all the fathers are honored by their loved and dotted children.
The third Sunday in the month of June is very special for the fathers in and across United States as they are showered with presents and treated to dinner and are made to feel very important and special.
The father’s day origin is not yet very clear. It is believed to have begun with a church service and this ceremony was held in Washington. The promoter of this day was Mrs. Bruce John Dodd.
She favored and supported this day as she found her father to be outstanding. She had great respect for her father as he was a veteran in the civil war and had raised six children without any support after her mother died very young.
Father’s day was celebrated on June 5th on the birthday of her Mrs. Dodd father. This date was then altered to the third Sunday of the same month to be celebrated as father’s day.
The children visit their fathers even if they live apart and make special desserts and if they stay very far they send flowers on father’s day to their fathers respectively.
The intimate relation between children and fathers are maintained by honoring this day and is the best way to measure obligations. The fathers are recognized by the families and honored in various forms by giving them a treat in nice restaurant, by offering gifts or by sending flowers on father’s day.
Children who are unable to visit their fathers on this day or are even unable to take them on a dinner send greeting cards that are whimsical to cheer their fathers. They send flowers on father’s day with some heartfelt thanks for being their father and for supporting them.
